Microneedling
Microneedling and Collagen Induction
Microneedling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy or CIT) is an innovation in skincare for the treatment of the appearance of fine lines, acne scars and the improvement of the skin’s texture, tone and color. During this procedure, a micropen is used to create controlled micro-channels in the skin that allow topical gels, creams and serums to be absorbed more effectively into the deeper layers of the skin. The skin recognizes these micro-channels as micro-injuries, triggering the skin’s natural repair process. During the repair process, collagen and elastin are produced, resulting in plumper, smoother, more hydrated skin. This treatment can be performed on the entire face and neck, or on specific areas of the face or body that have wrinkles, scars, or stretchmarks.
